Old friends are like a nice broke in Surge

Last night I reunited with an old friend of mine, thanks to the tour. Aaron Hudson PDGA#31640 was my room mate back in the late 90’s and I had just started playing disc golf when I moved in with him in Phoenix. We used to go to Vista Del Camino and play on the weekends. Once and awhile their would be all these guys playing and taking all the tee boxes, how dare they! Didn’t they know that we wanted to play disc golf too? So we would sit back and watch these guys and man could they throw, but why were their so many playing our course? We would sit in awe while they would toss 350-400 foot drives like they were shot out of a cannon. Once again who were these guys? So flash forward to the Jerry Garcia 2005 I was living in Flagstaff and my freind called me up from PHX and told me he was going to play in a tournament near my hometown. Aaron and I have always been very competitive with each other, so I was in. We were so sure that we could play this sport well, so we signed up for advanced men and got our asses handed to us! That was the instant that disc golf became more than just a hobby,and for that I can never thank Aaron enough, he is directly responsable for what now is the Play Em All Tour, because if I didn’t have to prove to him that I was better than he was and go to that tournament the disc golf fever would not have hit me! Let me digress, I said earlier that Aaron was my roomate, I didnt make alot of money back then and Aaron carried me for about 2-3 years and for that I am truly gratefull. Oh yea, I figured out who those guys were hogging all the tee boxes, they were me and Aaron and all the other guys and gals who play tournament disc golf!

What’s cooking today?

I have been working on a order for married mini’s with GottaGoGottaThrow(one of my first sponsors) that soon will be ready. Also working on first Supercolor Disc order with Discraft.
